"Porcupine Tree are ending 2007 on a high note. Fear of a Blank Planet (Atlantic), an epic suite of six songs about the deadening effect of technology on young people's psyches, has quickly become their best-selling and best-reviewed album ever. They also played two sold-out U.S. tours this year in bigger venues than on any previous visit to the states, including a triumphant performance at Voodoo Fest in New Orleans Oct. 26.
Furthermore, Classic Rock Magazine recently named Fear of a Blank Planet Album of the Year, an award presented to the band Nov 5. In its March album review, the magazine declared it 'the first mandatory album purchase of 2007.'
Those achievements join an equally impressive roster of other milestones this year that include:
-Selling out the initial run of the deluxe vinyl edition of Fear of a Blank Planet;
-Selling out initial run of the DVD-A version of Fear of a Blank Planet;
-Selling out the initial run of their acclaimed new mini-album Nil Recurring;
-The release of Blackfield II (Atlantic) by one of Steven Wilson's other projects, Blackfield, and their subsequent sold-out U.S. tour.
Porcupine Tree will remain active in 2008 with the re-release of their seminal album Lightbulb Sun in deluxe CD/DVD-A and vinyl editions, a live album, and a book of Danish photographer Lasse Hoile's Porcupine Tree artwork and photos."
