When we arrived at PFMs office, coincidentally enough, the band's manager was on the phone to James Guthrie, discussing the documentary that is due to be amongst the extras. It appears that there are a few issues with the documentary that need to be ironed out before the discs can be considered finished and ready to press up for an eager public.
They are very aware how sought after this release is, and also want to make sure it is as good as it can be. Whilst they know that many fans would buy it without any extras on, they know that a greater number would demand extras to be present. So whilst the main feature is now ready, the extras just need a little extra work to finish them off.
They are hoping that it can still be released later this year, but in an effort to manage expectations, warn that it is not guaranteed. It may slip into the early part of next year."
"The full surround mixing of the 1975 album Wish You Were Here is almost finished. Doing any work like this takes time to ensure it is right, and provides the best possible audio experience, but PFM confirm that we are certainly looking at the end of this year for a release of the album in hybrid CD/SACD (Super Audio CD) format.
With James Guthrie at the controls, the quality of this should be very high, and worth waiting for - and the feedback we have had for his work on Dark Side Of The Moon has been uniformly positive."
