Des nouvelles du catalogue de PORCUPINE TREE qui passerait prochainement de Delerium Records à Snapper Music.
"Yes you have heard the rumours, and we can confirm officially that it's true! Delerium's Porcupine Tree catalogue has been permanently aquired by Snapper Music who will be looking after it in the future. It was felt by everyone involved that Snapper was a good home for the bands catalogue due to Snappers long collaboration with both Delerium and Porcupine Tree.
A limited edition Delerium Box set (covering the entire history of the label with tracks by all the artists who were involved - including Porcupine Tree) will be released at some point in the near future (containing a Porcupine Tree rarity) but other than that there will be no further releases on the Delerium label by the band. Since Snapper now own and control Porcupine Tree's catalogue any future re-issue projects will be overseen by them.
Everything that Porcupine Tree released on the Delerium label is now in the realms of collectability and we are particularly proud of the fact that releases on Delerium have become so popular amongst record collectors. There are some very limited quantities of original Delerium releases still in stock at The Freak Emporium (www.freakemporium.com) including the recent Moonloop CD, but once they are gone that really will be the end....!
We'd like to say thanks to all of you who have supported Delerium and Porcupine Tree over the years. We'd especially like to say thank you to those of you who have been on our mailing list who have been with us since the very start in 1991 when Porcupine Tree were a very well kept secret indeed! If you were at the band's first ever gig at The Nags Head in High Wycombe in 1993, bought Psychedelic Psauna or the vinyl version of On the Sunday Of Life and are still with us, then you can count yourselves as one of the few. We can recall with amusement being advised by a music industry 'professional' that Porcupine Tree should change their name and make a video in New York if they wanted to be successful. Thankfully they didn't. We have been proud to be a genuine independent label funded through our own efforts, driven by our own ideas and controlled by nothing other than a love for new and unusual music. We are also thankful to Porcupine Tree and the many other great bands who released their music on the label. We hope you continue to enjoy and treasure Delerium releases for many years to come.
Obviously The Freak Emporium continues and we will update you on any new Porcupine Tree related products that we might stock.
