"Replacing Frost was no easy task but we feel that we picked a band that is more than capable of delivering a stunning live performance at RoSfest. Galahad is a band that was on the RoSfest wish list and slated to play in 2008. They were immediately contacted and they graciously accepted the second slot. The second slot will be extended from 90 min to 2 hours due to Galahad's huge discography of music.
Galahad was formed in 1985 by original members Stuart Nicholson (lead vocals) and Roy Keyworth (guitars). The band was formed just for fun, playing half covers of Genesis, Zepplin, Rush, Sabbath, Focus, Marillion, etc and half original material of their own. During the early days Galahad also supported well known progressive rock bands that were coming up at the time including IQ, Pendragon, and Haze, and later Pallas and Magnum.
Galahad then embarked on a more serious take to their music and started writing original material and released their first album on CD in 1991 called Nothing Is Written which was financed by the band but went on to sell several thousand copies. Their music features strong and interesting compositions blending melodic and heavy moods and featuring the trademark vocals of Stuart Nicholson thus creating a sound that is definitely Galahad.
The band then landed themselves a deal with Voiceprint Records in the UK, Pony Canyon International in Japan and Blue Stone in Germany. Since then the band has released eleven albums including albums by main band offshoots such as Galahad Electric Company and the Galahad Acoustic Quintet. The band had played hundreds of gigs in the UK and Europe over the last few years.
The last Galahad album 'Year Zero' featured John Wetton (Asia, King Crimson, Family etc) on guest vocals.
Galahad are currently putting the finishing touches to their new album 'Empires Never Last' with Karl Groom (Threshold) on engineering duties, who also guests on the album along with Clive Nolan (Pendragon, Arena, Shadowland). 'Empires Never Last' takes the band in a slightly heavier, more guitar orientated direction and it is hoped this new album will be released towards the end of 2006.
Galahad released their debut DVD 'Resonance' in September 2006, which was recorded live at the Wyspianski theatre in Katowice, Poland in May 2006. This concert will also be released as an audio live album.
The current line up include Stuart Nicholson lead vocals, Roy Keyworth - guitars, Spencer Luckman - drums, Dean Baker - keyboards, & Lee Abraham - Guitars.
Look for Galahad to bring us new tracks from their 12th studio album 'Empires Never Last' as well as classics from their well known albums.

"We are proud to announce that we have been added to the ROSfest bill for Saturday 28th April 2007, plus we will be playing a full 2 hour set! We are very excited about this opportunity and would like to thank the organisers for inviting us to play at this prestigous event. We promise to put on a great great show, I think the new new material will rattle a few cages and shake a few foundations ...haha!!"
