DREAM THEATER vient d'annoncer que la date de sortie de leur prochain album est prévue le 23 septembre 2013. LE successeur de "A Dramatic Turn Of Events" a été enregistré au Cove City Sound Studios de Glen Clove (New York). Produit par le guitariste John Petrucci et mixé par Richard Chycki, il s'agit également du premier album impliquant complètement le nouveau batteur Mark Mangini. John Petrucci : "I see every new album as an opportunity to start over. To either build or improve upon a direction that has been evolving over time, or to completely break new ground. This is the first self-titled album of our career, and there is nothing I can think of that makes a statement of musical and creative identity stronger than that. We’ve fully explored all of the elements that make us unique, from the epic and intense to the atmospheric and cinematic. We’re incredibly excited about Dream Theater, and can’t wait for everyone to hear it. L'album sortira chez Roadrunner dans différents formats : CD special edition, 180g double vinyl LP et Box set. Les pré-commandes devraient commencer dès juillet. Une tournée mondiale est prévue dans la foulée. Enfin, un nouveau DVD intitulé "Live At Luna Park" sortira chez Eagle Rock en novembre. Il a été filmé pendant deux soirée au Luna Park Arena de Buenos Aires en août 2012.
